Where the Prairie Runs Deep is the Start of

Our Story

Before the horses, the bunkhouses, or the stargazing deck, there was the land – and a way of life shaped by it. This is where our story begins: on the open range, in a family rooted in five generations of ranching, and with a desire to share the grit, grace, and beauty of it all with those who come ride beside us.

It begins with the land.

The Grasslands and Frenchman River Valley have long been home to those who thrive where the sky meets the earth. The land here is rugged, vast, and full of stories. At Heritage Outfitting, our roots run five generations deep, shaped by cattle drives, calving seasons, and evenings spent around the fire swapping stories of grit and resilience.

Life of Grit and Grace

The ranching life has never been easy—but it’s always been worth it. We’ve seen our share of hard winters, dry summers, and long days in the saddle. But we’ve also seen the rewards of perseverance, stewardship, and community. Every hoofprint left on the prairie carries with it a legacy of those who came before, who taught us that connection—to the land, to each other, and to tradition—is what makes life meaningful.

Sharing the Spirit of the Prairies

Heritage Outfitting was born from a desire to share this life—not just the scenery, but the stories, the silence, the rhythm of it all. We invite guests to step into the saddle, sit by the fire, and reconnect with something real. Through horseback adventures, starlit nights, and western hospitality, we offer a space for reflection, renewal, and unforgettable prairie memories.

Our Vision

We are stewards of the land and keepers of tradition. Our mission is to preserve and share the cultural and ecological legacy of the Grasslands through immersive, respectful, and meaningful experiences. With every guest who visits, we hope to pass on a piece of the prairie—its quiet strength, its wide-open freedom, and its deep-rooted history.
